“Listen, my sister, with the ear of your heart”- St. Benedict
We, Sisters of Social Service, are women of many cultures striving to live in collaborative relationship with each other as a Society of Apostolic Life. We vow poverty, chastity and obedience within the communal spirit of Saint Benedict. We are rooted in the social teachings of the Church: to work in each local situation with a vision toward global transformation with special concern for women children and family life.
Discernment of this call takes time. The sisters offer each woman a time to get to know them and their works. Vocation days, work experiences and live in opportunities provide a special link to community life and works.
If you are a prayerful, practicing Catholic with a strong desire to seek God in community and to work for social change, you may want to consider the Sisters of Social Service.
